Empower Youth International

Get Involved

Empower Youth International could not exist without our incredible volunteers. Research proves that caring volunteers working with students of all ages have the power to help children boost academic achievement and put young people on track for a bright future. That’s why Empower Youth International has an on-going proactive effort to recruit fifty volunteers including tutors, mentors and counsellors. Our Main Volunteer opportunities include:

Youth mentors are needed to provide companionship and guidance to “at-risk” children in our “Empower U” mentorship Programme as well as for our “Impact your community” programme. Family tragedy, divorce, and financial problems can leave a child lonely and longing for adult support. These children need help with their school work, a listening ear, and unwavering encouragement. Unfortunately, school teachers in crowded classrooms have little time to give individual attention. There are many at-risk young people who need mentors; by volunteering as a youth mentor you can help one of them have a better life.

The After-School Tutor:(1) Works with an assigned primary school students to provide assistance in one or more academic subjects; (2)Assists a student to develop a better understanding of in-class and homework assignments; (3)Reviews completed home-work and suggests ways to improve and provides positive feedback on the student’s progress. Encourages the student’s continued focus on academic excellence. Tutors are needed to tutor children in Reading, Math and English for our 11+ Explosion programme.
