This innovative programme trains youth in entrepreneurship and with the help of business mentors will launch their very own business in just 1 week.
Mission Statement:
“The purpose of the Teen Entrepreneur Programme is to educate, train and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs (TeenPreneurs) to become civic minded leaders who lead with integrity and make a positive difference in the community through their innovation, creativity and purposeful enterprises.”
Established in 2019, the Teen Entrepreneur Programme (TEP) is a hands-on, learn-by-doing, one-week business entrepreneurship summer camp for secondary school students. TEP teaches the students ages 12-19 about entrepreneurship, best business practices, principles of business and “how to” start and launch their own business.
Teenagers (TeenPreneurs), working in groups of 3-to-4, work as entrepreneurs by preparing start-up business plans for their own real businesses. The teams with the best start-up businesses wins awards in the Entrepreneurship Business competition held the last day of the summer camp programme. This programme is held in the summer for a period of 1 week with 1 hour sessions from 9am -3pm.
The primary goals of this programme are to develop and deliver experience-based entrepreneurship programmes to young people to:
• Enable teens to transition successfully to adulthood.
• Help teens to pursue their dreams by harnessing their creativity and energy.
• Help teens transform their ideas into tangible enterprises that create positive economic and social impact for a better world.
• Develop the character of tomorrow’s leaders based on sound business principles and values.
• Enable educational institutions to provide successful and effective entrepreneurship programmes for secondary school students.
