OUR IMPACT

Our Impact on Young People

We want all young people to:

  • Grow up physically and emotionally well.
  • Have the skills, knowledge and networks to identify and work towards their life and career goals.
  • Be inspired and enabled to make a positive contribution to their communities.

At Empower Youth International, we inspire children and young people to make positive changes that last a lifetime.

Our programmes focus on increasing the well-being of young people, supporting them to feel good and function well.

We  have work with over  300 at risk  young people over the  years  including those involve in juvenile justice system,  child care homes and those from low income families  across Barbados.

Well-being underpins young people’s resilience, potential and future employability. By focusing on awareness of the attitudes, behaviours and skills they need, we support them to become empowered to make active choices that will benefit themselves, families and the community in which they live.

We work with a wide range of young people often facing fewer opportunities in life including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of  involvement  in crime, needing the confidence to find work or training or facing significant challenges in their lives. Young people in our programmes have went on to achieve amazing things in life including attending college or university, launching their own businesses or finding employment in the workforce. Others have avoided a life of crime , overcame bad  influences in their lives  or simply change their behaviour.

Watch the videos below  to listen to  some of the young people stories  we have worked with and see how Empower Youth International positively impacted their life.
