Our Mission

Empower Youth International empowers at risk youth ages 12-19 to reach their full potential through education, mentorship and innovative intervention programmes designed to enhance their total well-being.

Our mission statement serves as a guide for our collective activities which help us deliver on our vision for the future. With our bold commitment to youth (impacted by the justice, education, and child welfare systems) our mission statement builds on our history and strengths. Our aim is to continue to invest in youth-led and youth-centred ideas, to convene key stakeholders in the sector and advocate for systems changes that meet youths’ needs.  We commit to sharing our learning outcomes across the sector so that all youth in Barbados can achieve their full potential.

Our Vision

Empower Youth International desires to make available a centre in which youth will have access to opportunities, skills, resources and the relationships they need to actualize their potential.

Our organization has a proud history of serving youth and elevating their voices and ideas. We are committed to building a youth center where all young people can have a safe place to develop positive relationships with others, find direction for their lives and contribute positively to their communities.

Our Core Values:

As Empower Youth International seeks to build on the last 8 years of youth-centered work, we are focusing on areas in this sector with the greatest need. Hence, it is even more important for EYI’s approach and activities to be guided by the values that define our organization. Every volunteer or employee lives our values as we work together to deliver on our mission and vision. Hence, these six core values below guides our work and relationships.
