FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Need to know more? Don’t hesitate to ask! If your question can’t be answered on this page, please get in touch with us HERE.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND EYI PROGRAMMES?

Youth between the ages of 12 – 19 who would like to do better in school, learn positive communication and life skills or need motivation and direction.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

Attendees are asked to bring their own lunch to sessions. This enables us to keep our costs down but snacks are provided.

WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORT?

We do not provide transportation so that must be arranged by you prior to arriving.

WILL MY CHILD BE SAFE?

Yes. Besides myself, there is a team of volunteers present to supervise and attend to your child. We always ensure there is a qualified First Aid giver present at every session.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS? IS THAT TOO MUCH FOR MY CHILD TO HANDLE WITH SCHOOL ETC?

Sessions are  typically 2 hours long but can go a bit overtime depending on the topic.  Sessions are held on Saturdays 9am-11am so it doesn’t  infringe on your child’s school work. We have an amazing team of volunteers who make sessions fun and informative.

CAN WE SIT IN ON THE SESSIONS?

No. It is important that the participants go through this journey on their own. If a parent is there it can be a massive distraction and do more harm than good. However,  prior to  the programme we will go through various parts of the programme for you to understand the methodology and how it is relevant to not only your child but also yourselves.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES THE COORDINATOR AND THE TEAM HAVE?

Our team is made of persons who usually have bachelors and postgraduate degrees in various fields such as social work, psychology, finance etc. Our guest speakers are experts in areas such as mental health, personal development, HIV, sustainable agriculture and others.
